Do you have to work from our office?

No. Behind the Business operates remotely, so you don't need to provide office space, furniture, or equipment.

Question 2

Do we have to change our software?

Accepted Answer

Usually not. We aim to work within the systems your business already uses whenever practical.

Question 3

Can you work in QuickBooks or our job-management software?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Depending on your service plan and approved access, we can perform administrative work within systems such as invoicing, customer setup, A/R tracking, scheduling, and record maintenance.

Question 4

Will you contact our customers?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on plans that include outbound customer communication. Calls may include past-due invoice reminders, estimate follow-up, scheduling communication, and other approved administrative matters.

Question 5

Can you answer our incoming business calls?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Incoming phone support is available as an add-on and is priced based on call volume, coverage expectations, and scheduling complexity.

Are you a bookkeeping company?

Accepted Answer

No. Behind the Business provides administrative and back-office support. We do not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice.

Question 7

Do you only work with St. Louis businesses?

Accepted Answer

No. We're based in the St. Louis area, but our remote service model allows us to support businesses throughout the United States.

Question 8

Is there an onboarding fee?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The standard one-time onboarding fee is $250. Complex implementations may be quoted separately.

What happens if our business grows beyond our plan?

Accepted Answer

An occasional small increase in volume will not automatically create an extra charge. If your workload consistently exceeds the normal scope of your plan, we'll review the account with you and recommend a plan upgrade, custom pricing, or an approved additional-support block before recurring extra work becomes the new normal.

How do you handle passwords and system access?

Whenever possible, clients create a separate user login with only the permissions needed and enable multi-factor authentication. We do not ask clients to place passwords in onboarding forms.

Question 11

How does monthly billing work?

Accepted Answer

Monthly service fees are billed in advance and due on the 1st of each month using an authorized recurring payment method. ACH/bank transfer is preferred. New clients pay the onboarding fee and first month's service fee before recurring work begins. Mid-month starts are prorated, and accounts have a 5-calendar-day grace period if a payment fails or remains unpaid.

Do you require a long-term contract?

Accepted Answer

No. Standard service is month-to-month. Either party may end service with 30 days' written notice. Because monthly capacity is reserved in advance, fees remain due through the 30-day notice period and prepaid monthly fees are generally non-refundable.
